St Augustine's philosophy has once again shown itself to be extraordinarily modern. Virgilio Pacioni, an Augustine scholar at the Patristic Institute Augustinianum in Rome, makes use of two avenues of interpretation to examine Augustine's philosophical thought: an anthropological one drawing on the innovative analyses of Nello Capriani on the notion of the human nature, and a formal, logical one enhanced by the work of Michele Malatesta demonstrating the rigor of Augustine's thought.
